We've Been Approved!
I am excited to let you know my family and I are in the beginning stages of planting a church! Two weeks ago the Board of Elders at EFCC unanimously voted to affirm my wife and I as the next EFCC Church Planters. Pastor Dennis Keating has announced this at all services last weekend. As someone reading this maybe for the first time I want to invite you to pray for us and support in any way you feel led. Let me explain how we got here.
In 2006 my family & I moved to Escondido to work for Emmanuel Faith Community Church & for the past seven years we have had a growing desire to reach the lost in Escondido.
Our partnership with EFCC as their official next Church Plant began as a discussion with Pastor Dennis in June of 2011 and since then my wife and I have been through personal assessments of strengths and weaknesses, met with several church planters, surveyed and studied the area we want to reach (Northeast Escondido) and have gathered over 250 prayer partners to pray and seek God’s clear leading in this. For the last year and a half we have been meeting with Pastor Dennis to pray and discover if this truly is God’s calling on mine and my family’s life.
We’ve since been assessed, approved and voted on to begin the work of advancing the Kingdom of God through planting a new church!
This is an exciting time and there are many details to work out. At this point in time I am still the Pastor of Welcome & Membership at EFCC and will be so for the next five months unless a replacement is found before so. I will remain officially remain on staff at EFCC until April 2014.
I know you may have questions and I want you to know I am here to answer them. Please feel free to email me or call if you have any questions. I will be preaching the weekend of 4/20-4/21 and invite you to 1) pray for preparation and 2) come listen to my heart as I speak of our heart for Church Planting. I ask you to join me in the praying for this new endeavor of our church and continue to seek the Lord’s favor so that we may bring the hope of the Gospel to all people in Escondido.
